About Phil Doyle
Phil has over 30 years experience working in the statutory and
voluntary sectors delivering Children's Services including work
in Social Services, Youth and Community and as the Children's Play
services manager. He was also the Local Government Representative
(LGA and ALG) on the NPFA and the Children's Play Council (CPC)
Play Safety forums.
As a member of CIP (a Leisure trust) and previously the Leisure
services departments of local authorities he had responsibility
to plan and develop supervised play services, mobile play, play
centres and play schemes, outdoor fixed equipment and free play
environments for children in parks and open spaces, housing estates,
staffed play projects and schools.
Phil has extensive experience of developing play areas and play
spaces in parks and open spaces and housing areas, adventure playgrounds,
multi activity ball games areas, wheel parks/skateboard areas, teenage
shelters, hang-out and seating areas in a range of settings. He
has experience in community planning, community development, social
services, youth work and delivering regeneration projects in regeneration
areas including SRB, Capital Challenge, Neighbourhood Renewal (NRF)
and NDC projects.
He has developed and managed the consultation and engagement processes
with local children and communities to ensure children and families
from all abilities and sections of the community were involved and
participated in the consultation events and activities and the design
of play and community facilities.
Phil has set up play associations in Tower Hamlets and Hounslow
and is an active member of London Play. He is also involved in the
forefront of regional and national play developments.
